Gemini (generativelanguage.googleapis.com):
Limited Use.

Mail Dashboard is a Chrome extension that shows, in one place, what needs your attention in your Gmail inbox. It runs entirely in your browser. It has no server, and its developer never receives, sees or stores any of your data.
Data the extension accesses
- Gmail (
gmail.readonlyandgmail.modifyscopes): message details (sender, recipients, subject, date, snippet) to display lists; message content when you open a message in the extension or when AI summaries are enabled. - Changes in Gmail happen only when you click: marking as read ("Done") and undoing it, moving to trash and restoring. The extension never sends email and never deletes permanently.
Where data is stored
Only on your computer, in Chrome's local storage (chrome.storage and IndexedDB). Your marks, notes, settings and index are never sent anywhere. "Disconnect account" deletes that account's data from the computer; uninstalling the extension deletes everything.
AI summaries (optional, off by default)
Only if you paste your own Google Gemini API key and turn the feature on, the extension sends, directly from your browser to Gemini (generativelanguage.googleapis.com):
- To summarize a message: the subject and up to the last three messages in the thread, with each author's name and address and attachment file names (up to 2,000 characters). In short mode: only the subject, sender and a short snippet.
- To check whether a message you sent is really awaiting a reply (only when a simple rule could not decide): your last message in the thread, the recipients' names, and the message before it with its sender (up to 1,500 characters each).
- If you also enable "promise tracking": sent and received messages with active contacts within the chosen number of days, with names, message text and attachment file names.
Senders, domains and labels you exclude are not sent in any of these. This is governed by Google's terms for your own API key. The key is stored only in your browser.
What does not happen
- No data collection, no usage analytics, no ads.
- Data is not sold, transferred, or used for any purpose other than showing it to you in the extension.
Revoking access
You can revoke the extension's access to your Google account at any time: myaccount.google.com/permissions.
Mail Dashboard's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
